What is the difference between Fighter,Attack And Strike Aircraft???
Fighter aircraft
Fighter aircraft are sometimes air superiority aircraft or mainly multi-role aircraft nowadays. These aircraft are primarily designed to overpower and outmaneuver enemy aircraft to obtain and maintain airspace control. These aircraft typically have more powerful, sophisticated radars allowing them to detect enemy aircraft earlier, and launch counter mesures such as air-to-air missiles on them. They are mostly lightweight but having powerful engines, giving them a very high thrust-to-weight ratio and an abundance of power. Lastly, they have bubble canopies affording excellent visibility in many directions.
The most typical modern example of this is the Su-30 MKI And Rafale of Indian Air-force.
Attack aircraft
Attack aircraft are close combat air support aircraft designed to provide aerial support for ground units in contact with the enemy. These aircraft typically fly lower and slower than Attack fighters, and are designed to fly for longer time duration, remaining over a target area for longer duration to provide extended support for its troops. Their missions usually involve providing on-call air support, typically by being in contact with ground units who assist them in locating ground threats. These aircraft can typically carry more ammunitions than Fighter aircraft, which are more typically tasked for "in-and-out" strike missions, rather than on-call close air support missions of an extended duration.
The most typical modern example of this is the US's A-10 also known as "Warthog," which doesn't have a radar but only carries basic heat-seeking missiles for defense. Also Mig-27 And SEPECAT Jaguar of Indian Airforce.
Strike aircraft
Strike aircraft are bombers aircraft (designations usually begins with "B"), which are much larger than fighters and attack aircraft, and are designed to carry very large amout of payloads of bombs or missiles to effect heavy damage over a larger area or hit a larger number of targets in one sortie. These aircraft are also capable of flying very longer distances to strike more distant targets.
Examples include US's B-1 Lancer, B-2 Spirit, and B-52 "Stratofortress", all of which carry large numbers of bombs or air-to-ground missiles or sometimes Nuclear Drop Bomb.
Purely technically speaking the following:
Fighter: is a aircraft which is used to engage both air and ground targets.
Attack Aircraft: an aircraft which is used to engage ground targets only with only conventional weapons system
Strike Aircraft: an aircraft that is used to engage ground targets with both conventional and nuclear weapons.
